Ranthambore, Rajasthan
Ranthambore National Park is one of the biggest and most renowned national parks in Northern India. The park is named after a 10th century fort that sits high on a craggy outcrop. Previously known as the hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur, today the Ranthambore National Park is famous for its Bengal tigers and is one of the best locations in India to see these majestic predators in their natural habitat.

Corbett NP, Northern India
Corbett National Park is a famous reserve established in 1936 as India’s first National Park. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, the park is home to unique flora and fauna, and is renowned for its varied wildlife. This is where Project Tiger was originally launched. The park was renamed after the legendary tiger hunter Jim Corbett, following his seminal book ‘The Man- Eaters of Kumaon’ and even today these stunning creatures cause the excitement and intrigue they always have at the park.

Thekkady, Southern India
Thekkady in the Periyar National Park is India’s largest wildlife sanctuary and it’s only tiger reserve. It is an enchanting place with tranquil countryside, rich plantations & thick jungles. The sanctuary, centred around the large (24 sq km) artificial lake formed by the Mullaiperiyar Dam across the Periyar river, is open throughout the year, but the best season for a visit is from September to March.

Bandhavgarh, Central India
Bandhavgarh is 437km2 and located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. This vast and stunning park has the highest density of tigers of any of India’s reserves, is home to a collection of fascinating ruins, and gives you the chance to trek through the jungle on elephant back. As well as the famous Tigers the park is home to Leopards, 250 species of birds and over 35 species of mammal, making it a fascinating place to explore.

Kanha, Central India
Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh came into being in 1955 and forms the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve, created in 1974 under Project Tiger. The Park’s landmark achievement is the preservation of the rare hard ground Swamp Deer (Barasingha), saving it from near extinction. Stringent conservation programs for the overall protection of the Park’s fauna and flora, makes Kanha one of the most well maintained National Parks in Asia.

Panna, Central India
Panna National Park is the most important protected region in the highlands of area due to it linking the east and west populations of wildlife through the Vindhya Ranges. Magnificent waterfalls, deep ravines, rich forests and open grasslands make this park a remarkable place to visit and explore. Although famed for the tiger, also look out for leopards, jackals, wolfs, bears and even crocodiles. Due to its proximity to one of the best-known attractions in India, Khajuraho, the park is ideal for exciting and memorable stop-over destination.

Pench, Central India
Named after the Pench River, this reserve is quieter and less known than others in the region, but can boast the highest concentration of prey of any of India’s parks, and is included under the umbrella of ‘Project Tiger’. It’s an area of natural beauty and rich in wildlife, and it is part of the setting for Rudyard Kipling’s famous book, The Jungle Book.

Satpura, Central India
Satpura National Park boasts a rugged landscape comprised of sandstone peaks, dramatic ravines and clear waters. Established in 1981, the park is virtually unspoiled by mass tourism and shelters diverse wildlife within the 524km² it spans. Satpura is literally translated as ‘Abode of Serpents’ and there is a sacred snake image imprinted on the banks of the river Sarpagana.

Chitwan, Nepal
Located in south central Nepal, Chitwan National Park is the country’s oldest reserve, and the best place to see wonderful wildlife and breath-taking landscapes in Nepal. The park contains diverse ecosystems, such as flood plains, lakes and the Reu and Naravani Rivers making it rich in flora and fauna and it is home to one of the largest population of Bengal Tigers, making Chitwan a must visit destination in Nepal.

Bardia, Nepal
Bardia National Park is the largest untouched wilderness in the Terai. The park protects 968 sq km of sal forest and whispering grassland, bordering the Geruwa and Karnali Rivers. The atmosphere is wonderfully tranquil and with the current slump in tourism, you may well have the whole place to yourself. There are estimated to be around 22 royal Bengal tigers and 100 one-horned rhinos, grey langurs, rhesus macaques, leopards, civets, hyenas, sloth bears and barking, spotted, sambar and hog deer.

Yala National Park, Sri Lanka
Yala National Park is one of the largest and most frequently visited National Parks that Sri Lanka has to offer and stretches over 371 square miles. Located in the south east of Sri Lanka, the Park boasts an abundance of wildlife ranging from Buffalos, Elephants and Crocodiles and is also home to one of the largest densities of leopard population in the world. There is a fantastic variety of bird species on offer, perfect for bird lovers, and the park is also crucial for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants.
